Dr Indarjit Singh will be speaking on the topic of "Sikhism Today". This talk will be concerned with the relevence of Sikhism to the modern mult-faith society. All are welcome. Sikhism shows unwavering tolerance of beliefs of all as "if you don't see God in all, then you don't see God at all". There will be ample room for all questions.
Dr Indarjit Singh is an internationally recognised journalist and broadcaster and frequent commentator on social and religious issues. He is widely regarded as both the secular and religious voice of the British Sikh community. In 1989, Indarjit Singh became the first non- Christian to be awarded the UK Templeton Prize 'for the furtherance of spiritual and ethical understanding.' In 1991 he received the Inter faith Medallion for services to religious broadcasting.
In September 2006, Indarjit was named by the Independent, a leading British newspaper, as one of 50 people who have made a major contribution to world peace. He was awarded the Order of the British Empire in June 1996 and a CBE in 2008.
